Kimchi Air Fried Tater Tots with Spicy Aioli

My wife loves Molly Yeh, the food tv show host. She is so cute, who wouldn’t. One of Molly’s shows featured these Kimchi Tater Tots. I didn’t watch the show but I found the recipe online and we tried it. My sauce is a little different and we air fried the tater tots but dang these are good.

We served these amazing tater tots with another amazing burger, Local Shitake and Swiss Burger with Black Garlic and Soy Aioli.

Ingredients for Kimchi Tater Tots

  • 1 bag of frozen tater tots (we used Alexia)
  • 1 cup kimchi, chopped (we used store bought)
  • 1.5 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • Olive oil spray
  • Sliced green onion for serving

Ingredients for Spicy Aioli

  • 1 cup mayonnaise (we used Vegenaise)
  • 1 tsp kimchi juice
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1-2 tbsp Siracha
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1-2 tbsp water if needed

How to Make Spicy Aioli

  1. Easy… Add all the ingredients to a bowl and mix until combine. Add water to loosen the mixture if need be. Place in the refrigerator until needed.

How to Make Kimchi Tater Tots with Spicy Aioli

  1. Prepare your air fryer by pre-heating at 400F for 3 minutes. Spray the fryer basket with olive oil spray and add one layer of tater tots. Cook for 7 minutes and toss. Cook for another 5-10 minutes until crispy and browned. Alternately, you can prepare in the oven per the instruction on the package.
  2. Preheat oven to 450F. Place the air fried tater tots in a oven proof dish. Top with kimchi and cheddar cheese. Place in the oven and cook for 8-10 minutes until edges are browned and the cheese is melted. I also flipped the oven to broiler and browned them up a bit more.
  3. Top with green onions and spicy aioli.
  4. Enjoy.
