Here is a very short list of my favorite restaurants. I will not be listing any large national chains restaurants like PF Chang’s or Ruth’s Chris, although I like many of them, I prefer local establishments.

 Greenville, South Carolina

• CLOSED Husk – Greenville Another Chef Brock property using only local and southern ingredients.
• Northampton Wines Awesome, off the beaten path spot, great wine selection.
• Sidewall Pizza Amazing pizza and salads with multiple locations.
• Monkey Wrench Smokehouse, Travelers Rest, SC
• The Anchorage Farm to plate, James Beard Finalist.
• The Lazy Goat Classic since it opened. Best fries in the world.
• The Pita House Amazing “Greek” food, best value.
• Mekong Vietnamese using fresh local food. This is where the chefs eat. Amazing and best value.
• CLOSED Bacon Brothers Public House Gluttony at it’s best. Nice beer and bourbon selection.
• Bucky’s BBQ Best BBQ in the upstate.
• Chophouse ’47 Best steak in the upstate.
• Sassafras Southern Bistro Mixes southern with French. Beef en Croute is my favorite dish in Greenville.
• Restaurant 17 Great food with amazing mountain views.
• Urban Wren, downtown Greenville, SC
• Topsoil Restaurant, Travelers Rest, SC
• Mr. Crisp Great seafood and oysters from the Chef of The Anchorage (See above).

 Charleston, South Carolina

• CLOSED McCrady’s My favorite in the south.
• Husk – Charleston Local and southern ingredients.
• FIG On Par with McCrady’s above, fresh local food.
• CLOSED Fulton Five I got engaged here, Italian inspired cuisine.
• Jack’s Cosmic Dogs (Mount Pleasant) Best hot dogs ever, ask Alton Brown.
• Fleet Landing Good food right on the water with phenomenal views.
• Poogan’s Porch Best brunch in town.
