Bourbon Peach Grand Smash Cocktail

I made this Bourbon Peach Grand Smash Cocktail back in the summer when South Carolina peaches were in season. In my opinion SC peaches are the best, not just because I live here. I feel like California peaches are not sweet or juices enough (might be because I live on the different coast). Georgia peaches are too sweet. SC are just right.

The Bourbon Peach Grand Smash Cocktail has a little of everything. The muddled peach and lemon balance the sweet peach and acid from the lemon. The ginger simple syrup adds a little sweet and a little heat. The Grand Marnier adds another burst of sweet and acid. Bourbon, no need to say anything else. I used a Elijah Craig. At 94 proof it has some pop but doesn’t over take the peach.

It is a summer drink and ideally you are getting fresh peaches where ever you are.

Ingredients for a Bourbon Peach Grand Smash

  • 1/2 fresh local peach, sliced
  • 1 lemon wedges
  • 1/2 ounce ginger simple syrup
  • 1/2 ounce Grand Marnier

Instructions to make a Bourbon Peach Grand Smash

  1. Slice the peach, preserve two slices to garnish. Add the rest to a cocktail shaker.
  2. Add lemon wedges and ginger simple syrup and muddle to until everything is juiced.
  3. Add ice, then Grand Marnier and bourbon. Shake to combine.
  4. Double Strain using the cocktail shaker and a fine strainer into a cocktail glass with ice.
