I stole the name, okay. I’ve seen several restaurants and bars have a drink on the menu with this name. That or Apple of My Rye. Same. Most of the recipes, when I Googled, had apple cider. Well, I didn’t have any apple cider but I did have some applejack (apple brandy). So with a chance to make a boozy drink even more boozy, I made the swap. I also used two whiskey’s. One was a very high proof barrel pick and the other was a staple most bars prefer when making rye cocktails, Rittenhouse. You could just use one, but adding the barrel proof and some heat or pepper, which I very much liked.
