Boulevardier Cocktail

Th Boulevardier cocktail has an interesting back story. Apparently, it was created by a customer in Paris at a bar called Harry’s New York Bar. The internets told me, a customer at the bar kept ordering this drink, which is spin on a Negroni (which uses Gin instead of Whiskey). Eventually, the drink was named after the business the customer owned.

Another twist to the story is Harry’s New York Bar in Paris only existed because the owner left the States because of prohibition. I don’t blame him, I might have been an ex-pat myself. The customer was also an ex-pat living in Paris.

Anyway, this drink was appealing to me because of the bitter Campari and Sweet Vermouth. Whiskey is my favorite, so the combination was very intriguing. I like it. The more I drank the more I liked it.

I first tried this on the shaken on the rocks, then stirred and up. I liked both very much.

This is just another example of me trying old school cocktail recipes. Check out some of my others if you are bored.
