The Tuxedo No 2 is a turn of the century cocktail. The first version had gin, sherry and orange bitters. The No. 2 became more popular by dumping the sherry and adding dry vermouth, maraschino liqueur and an absinth rinse.
If I’m not drinking Bourbon or a whiskey cocktail, I’m probably drinking a gin drink. More specifically a martini or a variant of a martini. This one hit all my marks and has multiple layers of flavor coming from start to finish.
