This is so easy, we cut all the corners.
- Dropping the seasoned salmon in the air fryer makes this component come together in about 10 minutes.
- Not making the Caesar dressing completely from scratch reduces your time to dinner significantly.
This whole meal is really about the Caesar dressing. Take the short cuts or not. You need really good dressing, crisp greens and croutons. Our croutons are made from local Stecca bread from Swamp Rabbit Grocery and Cafe, which is legendary.
The Caesar Dressing from Scratch
In the Caesar dressing recipe below, I use a lot of short cuts.
- I’m using garlic powder instead of fresh garlic cloves. You can generally expect one garlic clove to equal one teaspoon of garlic powder.
- I’m using store bought mayonnaise. For this recipe, you can make your own with one egg and approximately 1/4 cup olive oil. Just whisk those two until you get the consistency you desire.
- I’m using anchovy paste instead of anchovy filets. Here you can generally swap half a teaspoon of the anchovy paste per one anchovy filet.
- I also used store bought lemon juice instead of fresh squeezed.
If you choose to not use the short cuts, will the dressing be better? Yes! With that said, the short cuts work just fine and save time.
