Creole Cocktail

I’ve mentioned in many previous post about cocktails that I lean towards a boozy drink. For some reason, even more recently, I’ve been obsessed with old school and even more specifically New Orleans cocktails. I made the Old School Sazerac Cocktail, the Vieux Carré and the A La Louisiane. The more I research different drinks, the more different drinks come up in my social and search feeds. This is how I came across the Creole Cocktail. I also made a special trip for previous drinks to buy Bénédictine, so I was ready to try this one.

Ingredients for the Creole Cocktail

  • 2 1/2 ounces rye whiskey
  • 1 ounce sweet vermouth
  • 1/4 ounce Bénédictine
  • 1 splash maraschino liqueur
  • Lemon peel for garnish

How to make a Creole Cocktail

  1. In a mixing glass with ice add rye whiskey, sweet vermouth, Bénédictine and marashino liqueur. Stir to combine and chill, about 20-3 seconds.
  2. Strain into chilled coupe or Nick and Nora glass.
  3. Garnish with lemon peel
